About Us

QUARTET MYSTIQUE is a Croatian female vocal and instrumental ensemble mainly performing an extensive classical, spiritual and film music repertoire (J. S. Bach, F. Schubert, A. Dvořák, U. Pieroni, A. L. Webber, E. Morricone, Gegorian chant, etc.) in a new, attractive and distinctive way. Apart of that, the quartet also includes popular, jazz and traditional songs in their repertoire. The members are four versatile and talented young musicians: Nela Šarić, Elma Burnić, Ani Vuletić and Željka Spinčić Bunčić.
 

Nela Šarić
 

A graduate solo singer at the Academy of Music in Zagreb with professor Cynthia Hansell Bakić. She has taken part in numerous Academy projects, in seminars of world-famous singers, in early music festivals ('Baromus','Dvigrad'..), performed as a soloist with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Hungarian Chamber Orchestra, worked with conductor Ricardo Mutti in ''The Roads of Friendship'' project and with the famous lute and guitar player Edin Karamazov performing renaissance music of John Downland. As a member of Antiphonus, famous Croatian early music ensamble, she performed at 'Varaždin Baroque evenings', 'Zagreb Biennale' and 'Croatie, le voici' in Paris, France. She attended seminars held by famous classical musicians (Annemarie Zeller, Larry Allan Smith, Benno Schollum, Mary Logan- Hastings, Helena Lazarska, Judith Kopecky) and jazz musicians (Guillermo Rozenthuler). She is a versatile singer with experience in various music genres. Apart from performing classical music she has been a member of pop bands and klapas Cesarice and Garofuli (Croatian female 'a capella' ensembles that cultivate traditional and composed Dalmatian songs). For two years, she worked as a singing teacher in the Music school 'Blagoje Bersa' in Zadar. In 2015, she sang Mussette role from Puccini’s opera La Boheme in Gijon, Spain, in the organization of International Opera Studio (conductor: maestro Jose Gomez). In 2016, she was one of  9 finalists on the International Singing Contest Zinka Miladinov held in Croatian National Theatre in Rijeka, and also won 2nd jury prize on the International Singing Contest Otto Edelmann held in Schlosstheatre in Vienna.

Elma Burnić
 

After acquiring a degree in Architecture she committed herself to various artistic expressions, but first and foremost to singing and songwriting. Over the years she has perfected her singing technique with professor Mirela Brnetić and achieved an all-round vocal and stage performance. She is learning improvisation, jazz and Latin American rhythms in seminars and workshops with world-famous musicians like Guillermo Rozenthuler and Judy Niemack. Elma is the author and the lead performer in multimedia project ‘Mystical night of sevdah’ that took place in one of Zagreb's most renowned theaters. Her music expression combines influences of the East and the West. Elma promoted her newest singles and music video in fully booked jazz VIP club, one of the hippest European jazz clubs. Just recently she has won an award for vocal interpretation on prestigious regional festival with the song she co-authored. In 2015, she won the 3rd jury prize on the Festival of Dalmatian Chanson in Šibenik with the song 'Ljubav/Love' which she performed together with the song's author, Hrvoje Hodak. In the words of the renowned jazz artist Matija Dedić: Elma is a breath of fresh air on Croatian music scene.

Ani Vuletić
 

After graduating from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and from the secondary music school (solo singing), she has been perfecting her vocal technique with professor Mirela Brnetić. She is the founder and the first soprano of klapa Cesarice, a highly reputable Croatian female 'a capella' ensamble that nurtures traditional and composed Dalmatian songs, the three-time absolute winner in a row (both jury and audience) at the famous Omiš Festival of Dalmatian Klapas and the winner of four Porins – the most prestigious Croatian discography music award. As a member of Cesarice she has delivered numerous brilliant performances in Croatia and abroad and has worked with famous Croatian and international musicians and bands (Edin Karamazov, Vlatko Stefanovski, Tamara Obrovac, Darko Pecotić, National television's Tamburica Orchestra, pop-rock group Pips, Chips & Videoclips, jazz band Black Coffee, etc.). She explores different music styles and attends international seminars and workshops where she is learning jazz, improvisation techniques and beatbox (Guillermo Rozenthuler, Judy Niemack, Deborah J. Carter, Lisa Popeil, Michael Krappel-fii, Lela Kaplowitz). She also attends Alexander technique workshops (Aranka FortwänglerHedda Mickausch, Ellen Mross, Harriet Anderson, Georgia Dias). In 2014 she was elected by the Croatian Composer's Society to peform in the festival 'New jazz talents'. In April 2016 she was a special guest singer at solo concert of Tedi Spalato, a famous Croatian singer and musician, in Kerempuh Zagreb theatre. She writes vocal arangements for a capella ensembles and other vocal groups and works as a vocal coach.

Željka Spinčić Bunčić
 

Graduated in the Organ with professor Ljerka Očić and in Music Theory at the Academy of Music in Zagreb. She has won highest awards at various county and state-level competitions. She performes at various festivals of classical music: Organ festivals 'Heferer', 'Petar Nakić' and 'Sonores Organi'; at chamber concerts in 'Salon Očić', 'Virtuoso' festivals, Music festival 'Autumn in Samobor', 'Fall overture' festival... She has also performed in the Croatian National Theatre in Oscar Wild's play 'The Importance of Being Earnest'. She is a long-time member of the ensemble Samoborke and Gradska glazba (the City Band) and has performed at the traditional Samobor Music festival. She has accompanied choirs in Croatia and abroad and performed at Samobor Jazz festival as a member of instrumental group 'Just the Pine'. She works as the organ and music theory teacher in the Music school 'Ferdo Livadić' in Samobor.
